Electrical System Information

The iLLUMi™ electrical system is 24 Volts (Low Voltage). You simply have your electrician connect it to a transformer, we recommend, IP67 – 30Watt – dimmable – DC – to suit AS/NZS 60598.1 and AS/NZ 60598.2.1, electrician can wire it to a light switch or movement sensor, allowing operation from there.

All 24 V – Low Voltage lighting products manufacture by The Basin Lab have been tested and meet EESS and ACMA’s relevant electrical safety laws including Aus/NZ Standards, the RCM (Regulatory Compliance Mark) triangle logo guarantees that your product is electrically safe and made with the highest standard raw materials and technology.

Our iLLUMi Halo Mirror Warranty Statement

The products of The Basin Lab come with guarantee’s that can’t be excluded under Australian Consumer Law (ACL) you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure. In the event this product is rendered obsolete, and replacement is required The Basin Lab reserves the right to supply a product of equal substitution at their discretion.

Mirrors

  • The Product Warranty Period commences from date of purchase.
  • Domestic – 5 Year replacement of Mirror and 1 year replacement on lighting strip (Parts only)
  • Commercial – 1 Year replacement of Mirror and 1 Year replacement on lighting strip (Parts only)

Exchange Policy

The Basin Lab does not offer returns in the case of change of mind, or if the product has been installed, or if the colour/shape of the product is not agreeable.

It is important to *view colour/shapes and dimensions samples prior to your purchase to ensure you are happy.

The Basin Lab hand-create individual Mirrors and some slight colour variation may occur however it is very close to the sample colours (Swatches)/Basins we provide including our colour chart on the website.

If the wrong product was delivered and a return is required, please email [email protected] with an attached copy of your invoice and photograph of the package/Product and we will promptly replace the item. 

What happens if you have an issue with your Mirror?

  1. Contact the stockist you purchased the product from or email [email protected] or call our customer service on + 61 0493 296 182.
  2. You will be asked for your sales invoice and the invoice from your installer.

Depending on the problem with the product – The Basin Lab will do one of the following:

  • Replace the faulty product in full or the component that has failed.
  • In the case of a major failure, replace or refund the product including shipping costs.

The Basin Lab offers the following warranty terms and conditions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Basin Lab’s Five-year (5yr) warranty is limited to Mirrors purchased from The Basin Lab or one of its accredited stockists/distributors. By purchasing The Basin Lab Mirrors for Domestic or commercial use, the purchaser agrees to be bound by the warranty terms. The Basin Lab extends to the original consumer the following The Basin Lab warranty:

The Basin Lab warrants that Mirrors purchased directly through their physical accredited outlets i.e. stockists/distributors or online store are free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for (5 years on Glass Mirrors) and (1 year on 24 V low voltage light components) from date of purchase.

The Basin Lab and or stockists will replace at its discretion and after inspection by its representative any part that proves defective in material and/or workmanship under normal residential/Commercial installation, use and service. This warranty is limited to replacement of all defective parts and does not cater for removal, re-installation, Labour, or freight cost.

The purchaser must at his or her own expense return to The Basin Lab the defective goods or parts and proof of purchase and proof of installation by the licensed Electrician.

Should it be necessary for the stockist or The Basin Lab to send a representative onsite to inspect warranty claims, the manufacturer reserves the right to charge for such service should it be deemed not to be a warranty related issue.

Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) from the original consumer purchaser must be made available for all warranty claims. If the Mirrors were purchased by a 3rd party e.g. a Builder, then occupation/handover date and 3rd party purchaser details must be provided. This warranty is not transferable.

The Basin Lab recommends that all Mirrors be installed by a qualified Electrician to ensure proper installation. Installation instructions where available cannot be expected to cover all aspects of best practice procedures and workmanship knowledge possessed by quality qualified and certified tradespeople. If you elect to install the products without the services of a qualified and certified Electrician, you accept that the relevant products warranty may be deemed void. At the manufacturer’s sole discretion, the manufacturer may require and request a Tradesperson’s installation certificate and proof of purchase to give effect to the relevant product’s warranty.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, alterations, misuse, abuse, normal wear and tear, lime deposits, rusting, corrosion, and surface heating due to exposure to corrosive materials or colour change that takes place with the passage of time.

Installation of faulty or damaged goods could void the warranty.

Check products before installation and advise The Basin Lab or store if there is any damage within 24 hrs.

Nothing in this warranty is intended to exclude, restrict or limit your rights applicable by law.

To the fullest extent permissible by applicable law, and subject to any express written agreement the manufacturer or its retailers will not be liable for labour costs, third party goods replacement costs or damages claims of any kind, incidental or consequential incurred during or after installation, repair or replacement, as well as any other kind of loss or damage caused by defective products.

Voided Warranties

A warranty will be void if the product is not cared for and maintained in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product or contained within this document; the product is altered in any way; the product is used in any way other than normal use; or any damage to the product occurs as a result of misuse, abuse or neglect.

Mirror General Cleaning

  • Please clean mirror surface with a mixture of 30% isopropyl alcohol and 70% water and use a soft micro-fibre cloth/chamois;
  • Dry off the mirror edges. 
  • Do not spray any cleaning product or chemical cleaner on the back of the mirror, it will damage the reflective coating.

OXYFORM SHROUD/LIGHTING STRIP

  • Please use a soft micro-fibre cloth and warm water OR rub Olive Oil on a soft cloth and apply to the Oxyform Coloured shroud, rub off immediately, this will rejuvenate any Oxyform resin product.

* Do not use any abrasive, acid or alkaline-based cleaners. Avoid sharp objects and keep heat and hot objects away from all surfaces.
